The simple womans daybook

For today: Tuesday 22nd June 2010

Outside my window: the same view - its lovely, but we were supposed to have moved off this mooring three weeks ago and it reminds me that the water tank in empty and the engine wont start :(

I am thinking: now that study is over for the summer that I can finally paint the book cases and make new curtains!

I am thankful for: My eldest who knows how to stand his ground when its needed but shows compassion beyond his years.

From the Kitchen: breakfast at Ikea! what more can I say - this pregnancy is making me anti food!

I am wearing: A summer dress (about 5 years old with holes in, but is so light I cannot bear to part with it)

I am going: To the south coast to visit mum & dad tomorrow, not so much a rest for me but boys are excited to see the folks

I am reading: nothing - I gave up on the last book in disgust and The little house is finished, I don't like being between books

I am hoping: that the UK gov budget goes in our favour

I am hearing: pepa pig, aghhhhhhh!

Around the home: clean and tidy, neat clothes piled ready to be packed

One of my favourite things: Apple pie, yum!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Lie completely in my mums hands ????

The simple womans daybook

For Today: (late again, sorry!) Wednesday 16th June 2010

Outside my window: Beautiful sunshine the water is reflecting in the trees and I can hear the birds chatting to each other.

I am thinking: Of all the things I want to do this summer, starting with a trip to the South coast to visit my Mum and Dad.

I am thankful for: Friends inviting me out this morning to a lovley little farm park for a picnic!

From the kitchen: Krispy Kreme dougnuts (celebration food) and doritos, salad and bread. (not cooking weather)

I am wearing: oppps, the same skirt as last week but a different top (both cleanen- monday was wash day!)

I am going: Onwards and upwards - took an OU level one exam in health science yesterday and have just signed up for a mathmatics course starting October.

I am reading: The interpretation of Murder by Jed Rubenfeld for me and Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ignals for the children

I am hoping: I wish I could fix the 'situation' between my husband and his sister

I am hearing: Children munching on Doritos chatting comparing sizes of the 'bits'

Around the house: It all looks in order for a change, thinking of changing the curtains - whats the 'in' colour?

One of my favourite things: feeling calm and in control (taking an exam was more stressful
than I expected)

A few plans for the rest of the week: Visiting Stowe House and Gardens tomorrow, Linford Wood Friday, Working Saturday, Resting Sunday, Childrens Learning co-op Monday on 'journeys' and Childrens HE Gymnastics Class Tuesday.

The simple womans daybook

For today: Wednesday (I'm always late) 2nd June 2010

Outside my window: The sun is fighting with great big black rain clouds, don't know whether to hang washing out or not....

I am (not) thinking:

I am thankful for: My husband picking up the slack while I have a lazy day.

From the kitchen: A shop brought cauliflower cheese Ive not cooked in weeks :(

I am wearing: Black summer skirt and vest top (was hopeful this morning)

I am going: To turn the computer off soon, maybe!

I am reading: OU course material

I am hoping: The children will go to bed on time without a fuss so I can revise :)

I am hearing: My sons favourite DVD (help I'm a fish) and birdsong

Around the house: Children's toys and crafts on every available surface

One of my favorite things: Taking tea with friends

A few plans for the rest of the week: Revision, revision and more revision

Here is a picture for thought that I am sharing:

Our 3rd Baby, due October 2010. For this gift I am very humble, thank you.

Not moving......

We are stuck! not cruising, not even a click sounds when you turn the engine over. The boat is floating high meaning the water tank is running very low........on the plus side we have the place to ourselves as no one seems to moor here - there are three children's play parks within walking distance and the solars are managing very well despite the weather.

Is this pause for a reason? our life at the moment seems to be running out of control, three weekends running have been taken over by hen/stag dos and family get togethers. We've not eaten a home cooked meal in weeks.

I have an exam in 6 days which I've hardly revised for and the washing up sits in the sink undone (again!)

Today I have peace. DS2 is playing on the floor at my feet with the play dough and DS1 is in his room with the bionicles.

Today I have logged onto face book, amazon and blogger.

Today I have slept well.

Today is not tomorrow or yesterday and I have no plans.

Today is mine!

Wednesday 6 January 2010

Its snow time to mess around!

I dont know who is more excited watching the big fluffy snowflakes falling from the sky, me or my eight year old? We know that this time it is snowball snow and the fun will start -us against daddy (he is way to good a shot!) as soon as the sun rises on the new day.

Good morning! want breakfast ? - no thanks! gotta prepare the snow fortress. OK.
